I received a quote to transport a CARGO VAN from Missouri to California for $695. I had read in other sites that providing a deposit is NEVER a good idea. However, Sara and Jessica were very pleasant and till this day I feel they provided good customer service to the best of their ability. Unfortunately, UFA was unable to transport the vehicle for the original amount quoted, so I agreed to pay $800 for the transport. After several follow up emails and phone calls, UFA dispatched a vehicle to pick-up the van in Missouri. The driver was unable to fit the van in his trailer, so he just left the van in Missouri. I didn’t get a call from the driver or UFA (I couldn’t believe this, I had sent a photo of the van to make sure they can find a company to transport the 15 passenger van). Instead I got a call from the property owner of where the van broke down advising me that the driver was unable to fit the van, so he left the van in his property. To add insult to injury, the owner of the property wanted me to PAY him a STORAGE FEE or else he was going to have the van towed immediately. The property owner wanted money from when the van was first left on his property, so from March 31st to April 12th. He wanted me to pay him $25 per day storage fee.
Can you believe this??? I called UFA asking if they could PLEASE move the van ASAP because the owner of the property was charging me money. They already had 2 weeks to move the vehicle, but they claimed they had a hard time finding a company that would be willing to pick up the van for the quoted amount. UFA was unable to move the van that day, so I had no choice then to search for another company that can provide faster service, so I contact Global Logistics located in Lighthouse Point, Florida to help me. Global Logistics dispatched a driver on April 12th (same day) for $750 and delivered the van. I didn’t have to pay for a deposit until they had a driver on its way to pick up the van. I wish I would have contacted them originally. Now, what would have been originally $695 has been over $1200 dollars. I had to pay the owner of the property over $300 dollars to avoid towing, $200 to UFA for the initial deposit. Even though I feel that I should receive my full deposit back for services not provided, and the $750 to Global Logistics. Moral of this story, the quoted amount was to good to be true. I wish I would have paid extra for faster and reliable service and paid no deposit until a vehicle was dispatched. Also, UFA is really quick to answer calls regarding quotes, but once you place an order you will have a really hard time reaching someone for an order update. Overall, I would not use this company again. I will not provide a deposit until I have confirmation a driver is on its way to pick up the vehicle. UFA makes you sign a terms and conditions, if you have weeks to transport your vehicle or you are a car dealership this is probably a company for you. But if you’re like me who needs fast and reliable service, shop around.

5I needed to ship my vehicle from my home in FL to my home in MA. A lot of auto shipping brokers called me once I put my information in the web. It was a bit overwhelming. Jessica from UFA called me and explained the business to me and how the pricing worked. She then emailed me a list of reviews about herself and her company. I was very impressed with the follow up I received from her. After doing some research on a few other companies, I felt that UFA offered the most. I had a great experience. No complaints whatsoever. I received fast and reliable service at a low price. I would definitely recommend UFA to anyone that needs their vehicle shipped.

This was our first experience using a car transporting company. They provided good customer service up until they had our deposit ($350; $175/ car). They said “most” cars are picked up within 72 hours…which didn’t happen. Our cars weren’t picked up until 18…..yes, 18 days after they were available for pickup! We had to leave our cars in AZ while we were in IL, not a good feeling! Their internal communications was poor and they often lied to us and stopped answering our calls just to keep us on the back burner. Once the car transporting company came and got our cars, everything went smoothly. The car transporting company was Quality Drive Away and they did an excellent job, it was United Freight of America (the broker) who did a TERRIBLE job. I highly, highly, highly recommend you do NOT use United Freight of America.

I entered into an agreement with UFA on 6/4/10. They were supposed to move my car from IL to FL. They asked me for 3 dates where I was available and I gave them 6/30-7/2. I then gave them a deposit of $200. Beginning 6/21/10 I began calling them to find out which date my car would be picked up. I was given a number of excuses including “no drivers are delivering to the gulf side of FL right now” and “no drivers know where your city in IL is”. They did not return my calls and finally on 6/30/10 someone took my call and told me it would be at least 14 business days. I advised them that I couldn’t wait that long as I was moving on 7/4 and we had been under contract for a month. They told me they couldn’t budge and it would be a minimum of 14 business days. I then asked to speak to a manager, Julie, and told her of the situation. I let her know what was going on and if they couldn’t get me in on one of the days we agreed to that I needed to cancel. Julie told me to email her that exact information at julie@ufaservices.com and she would have my deposit of $200 credited within 7 days. So I did. She responded and told me that they don’t offer refunds and IN ADDITION that they were going to charge me a $100 cancellation fee. This company is the most unprofessional group of people I have ever tried to do business with. I WOULD NEVER RECEOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. I ended up calling another company that day who got me set up and picked up in the next 2 days and knew exactly who I was talking about when I told him my story. He advised me that 60% of his business is a direct result of this same thing happening.
