I recently moved from California to the East Coast to attend medical school. I would eventually need a car to drive to my rotations, especially during the snow season. I did not have the time or energy to drive my car across the country so my family decided to employ Road Riders Auto Transport to ship my vehicle. BIG MISTAKE!
At first they gave us a reasonable quote and allowed me to ship some personal items along with the car. They also gave an estimated day of arrival. 2 weeks after my car was ON THE ROAD they said that the required distance to my destination will cost an additional $100 even though we had already signed the agreement with the previous quote! By this time we didn’t want any trouble and just wanted my car to be delivered.
They then let us know that the car would be delivered several days later than they previously said. We called and asked them if it was possible to have it sent ASAP. They said they would contact the driver and let her know. Today is the “later” day they said the car was going to be delivered and alas NO CAR. We call again and ask them to locate the driver. They said they would contact her again. Somehow my mom personally contacted the driver and she was NO WHERE CLOSE to my location. In addition the agency NEVER contacted her.
We are taking class potraits tomorrow, that remain with us for the next 4 years, and my suit is in the car!!!
Although the small print says quotes and delivery dates are only estimates, this is ridiculous! Save yourself the trouble and spend a little bit more money for a dependable company with better costumer service. To your surprise it will end up costing the same!
